For decades since the human race embarked on a rapid technological advancement, various scientists, governments, and industrial outlets have come up with innovative methods and equipment to scour the outer space far out into other galaxies. From a logical point of view, these explorations are not only focused on understanding the universe, but also finding any signs of alien life forms. This ambitious effort is driven by the quest to find the answer to one rather troubling question: Are we really the only intelligent species in the entire universe?
Over centuries, stories have been told of ancient humans coming into contact with aliens, but there hasn’t been hard evidence to support these stories so far. Rumors abound that some powerful governments, like the United States government, have gathered critical information that make the case for the existence of alien life forms, but they have been running covert programs to keep these facts under wrap.
Many people, especially conspiracy theorists, point fingers at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) as being one government institution that has kept the masses from the truth about aliens.
In a recent interview with The Observer, Britain’s first person to go to space made an effort to clear the air and the obfuscation surrounding the alien issue. Helen Sharman candidly confirmed what many have suspected for decades: Aliens actually exist and they could even be living among us. In her own words,” aliens exist, there’s no two ways about it.”
She went on:
"There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of different forms of life," she went on. "Will they be like you and me, made up of carbon and nitrogen? Maybe not."
Helen Sharman, a chemist by profession, was the first British citizen to travel to space, having been chosen among thousands of other contestants in a collaboration between Britain and Russia in which she traveled to space aboard a Soviet rocket back in 1992. She was 27. She’s now 56.
Is This Credible?
Of late, there have been lots of incidents where people claim to have seen alien spaceships – dubbed UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). There have also been numerous claims over the years that the US government is housing a secret alien research program at a secret base in Nevada called Area 51.
Just last September, someone had started a popular online campaign to marshal up millions of people and storm Area 51 in search of the truth. Although this didn’t come to pass, it sure sent out a serious message to the people that there could be a lot that we don’t know about the existence of other intelligent life forms in the universe, and possibly even within our very own Milky Way galaxy.
