The release date of Cyberpunk 2077, a first-person role-playing game (RPG) has been postponed to September 2020. According to the game's developer, CD Projekt Red, the launch date has been extended to better enhance the game's features, reports Cnet on January 16, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077's Launch is Moved to September 2020

Per the report, the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 has been moved from April to September 17, 2020. In a statement on Twitter, CD Projekt Red revealed that the game is complete and playable, however, there is still a need to test and add finishing touches to it. As such, the next few months would allow more enhancements to be made to it.

"We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there's still work to be done...We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing the launch will give us precious months we need to make the game perfect," CD Projekt Red said.

Based on comments made on the tweet, it seems not everyone is excited about the postponement of the game's release. A user, for instance, said:

"If you can't commit to a release date, then don't bother, I wish you all the best with this but frankly it's a new decade and delayed games should be a thing of the past."

First-person Role Playing Game Promises Exciting Features

On the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person role-playing game (RPG). It is quite similar to the Cyberpunk 2020, which was launched in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Nonetheless, this newer version is still being revamped to give players an exciting gaming experience. Given that it has taken long years of development to work on Cyberpunk 2077, expectations are quite high for this game.

Much more, there is a lot of hype around the game given the way CD Projekt Red has teased people with it. For starters, Cyberpunk 2077's first trailer was launched in January 2013. Since then, Cyberpunk 2077's screenshots, gameplay footage, demos, and other important features were kept hidden from the public. It, however, took five years for the second trailer of the game to be released, and it sure stirred up a wave of excitement among game lovers.

Cyberpunk 2077 to Support PC and Other Devices

The second trailer for the RPG game was launched in 2018 and showcased at Microsoft's E3 event. As such, there are expectations that Xbox and PC will run this game. Preorders can also be made for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of this game. There are, however, uncertainties if it will be compatible with the Xbox Series X or PS5.

Over and above that, the long years it has taken for the game to be developed has also given people the impression that something good is coming. Besides, CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3 game became quite popular due to its graphical and game design. It even made Nintendo a popular platform, and as such, the company has made a good impression to game lovers.

Features of Cyberpunk 2077

After the second trailer of Cyberpunk 2077, reviewers had more information to work with, but there was still no gameplay trailer. The latter was finally released which shows that this RPG game promises to offer player choice as well as intricate interactions with non-player characters. Also, there will be provisions to customize character features including gender, hair colour, etc.

And most importantly, a character's background story can be defined and depending on the story, it can have an impact on the way a player experiences the game. Over and above that, the gameplay demo shows that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature branching dialogue options, slow-mo shooting, ability to hack a system, and lots more.
