There are thousands of things you can give during the holiday season. Still, among the users and enthusiasts of cryptocurrencies, one of the most useful and appreciated gifts you can imagine is that of a hardware wallet that allows them to store their savings while withstanding the test of time safely.

But what's the best device in the market? We can't give you that answer, but we definitely can give you an idea of what, in our opinion, is one of the best wallets you can buy so far. If you don't want to be one of the bunch and our hardware wallet guide left you in the mood for more, there' s no doubt you'll want to take a look at this gadget that we tested and left us some excellent first - and second - impressions: Meet the D'cent Wallet

D'cent Wallet: Bringing the best features of all the hardware wallets in one device

The D'cent Wallet is a device designed by a team of Korean developers focused on launching a "next-generation cryptocurrency hardware wallet" ... and it is! They managed to combine the functionality, the security, the elegance, and the portability of many different hardware wallets, all in one small device.

Here we present the most important features of this Wallet:

Aesthetics and Hardware

Physically, the D'cent Wallet is a compact device. Similar to a Trezor One, but better crafted. Its body is made of hard plastic with a matt black finish, and its upper part is reinforced with a brushed metal cover.

The D'cent wallet is elegant, well built, easy to use, and secure

It has an OLED 128x128 pixel screen that makes it very easy to interact with the device itself. As an example, there are other devices like the KeepKey, which show the QR code of a wallet address, but the screen is so small that it is impossible to scan it with a phone. With the D'cent Wallet, we could send funds directly scanning the QR code shown in the device.

The D'cent Wallet has four directional buttons. In the middle, it has a fingerprint reader that will ask for your biometric identification before each payment as an additional layer of security that will only take a few fractions of a second for you to fulfill - while being virtually impossible for third parties to circumvent. As an additional point, it is important to mention that the device only stores two fingerprints.

This feature is extremely important to understand. This is the only hardware wallet with biometric authentication. And this is important because, they can know your code, they can get your keys, but nobody will be able to reproduce your fingerprint (at least in the modern civilization)

Security and Software

Unlike other devices, the D'cent wallet does not interact with your computer. This eliminates the possibility of any man-in-the-middle type of attack. Instead, it communicates directly with your smartphone via Bluetooth, allowing you to manage the funds through an app available in Android and iOS (which, by the way, also has a very user-friendly interface that comes with its own price tracker).

Interface of the D'cent App

The D'cent Wallet is not only a beautiful device with a user-friendly interface. It also has a Multi-IC architecture to provide the most robust possible protection for your private keys. The generation of passphrases is offline and isolated and has a Bank-grade EAL5+ security chip with the highest technical security standards.

D'cent Wallet supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC-20 tokens, Rostock, RRC20 tokens, Klaytn, Klaytn ERC20, XRP, Monacoin, Litecoin, Zcash, Bitcoin Cash, Dash and Bitcoin Gold.

What can be improved?

It's hard to get a negative point. Being very, very picky we could point out three things:

  1. The fact that you can not use with the pc is something that could be missed in some circumstances, especially considering that some have communication via Bluetooth.
  2. The user manual is in English, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese ... and ... well ... the world is vast, and there are other languages: Latin Americans, Portuguese, Italians, Germans, and French all say hello!
  3. Some coins with their own mainnets like EOS or TRX are not yet supported —but they have the option for users to suggest support for a new token/crypto

D'cent Wallet, D'cent App and D'cent Card: All for One, One for All

Together with the hardware wallet, D'cent offers a physical card to send and manage your Ethereum wallet and other ERC20 and ERC 721 tokens. This connects directly via NFC and allows you to make payments with a simple contact quickly, securely, and free of intermediaries.

This is the D'cent Card: An easy way to handle you Ether, ERC20 and collectibles

Without a doubt, the D'cent Wallet is one of the best wallets we've tried, and although we can't see the future, we're almost 99% sure that once you try this device, there will be no turning back: You'll have a new favorite.
