Samsung, Apple’s major competitor, has proved once again to be a real force in the tech industry with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. The tablet sector appears to have been dominated by Apple products for a while now, but this time around, Samsung is pulling the rug from under them with the Galaxy Tab S6.

Samsung has once again given Android users a bragging right with the affordable and superbly built Galaxy Tab S6. This article will reveal just what users should expect in the new device.

Cost and Availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6

The Tab is now available for purchase.

The Galaxy Tab S6 was released towards the end of August 2019, and its price begins at $649.99 for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage Wi-Fi model. For the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, its price is pegged at $729.99.

The pricey model of 8GB RAM/256GB storage LTE is only available in the UK for now, and it is sold for £759.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 also comes with its own stylus called the S Pen. However, users who wish to own a Samsung keyboard cover will have to pay more for it as it isn't part of the package.

Display and Design

The Galaxy Tab S6 comes in an all-metal design. Soft edges, light frame and a thin body are all features of the new gadget. The Tab S6 has its power and volume buttons located on the side closest to the slot, and the LTE model has its SIM tray situated in the same location. When you flip around to the opposite edge, you’ll find the connector for the optional keyboard cover.

Right there on the narrow edges, you will find two AKG-tuned speakers on both sides, making four speakers in total. The USB-C port is located at the bottom corner. Also, the Galaxy Tab S6 has no 3.5mm headphone jack, an embarrassment for a tablet of its level.

In all, the design of the Tab S6 is impressive.

Now to its display, it has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1600 x 2560 resolution for 287ppi.

Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 will operate with a 7,040 mAh battery. This battery size is smaller compared to that of the Galaxy Tab S4, but notwithstanding, it will still serve its user just fine.

With the Galaxy Tab S6, you stand to enjoy up to 14 hours of uninterrupted usage. The Tab also has the fast charging feature which will enable users to get more power within a short time period. For charging purposes, the Tab comes with a 15W charger, which is not so impressive. Even the Galaxy S10 5G smartphone comes with a 25W charger. Many believe that Samsung could have done better for the Tab S6.

The first Samsung tablet to enjoy a multi-camera setup among other Samsung tablet series is the Galaxy Tab S6. This upgrade is a 13MP f/2.0 primary sensor coupled with a 5-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide back-up. For a mid-range phone, this camera setup would not be remarkable, but in the case of a tablet, where the snapshot isn't a priority, it's quite an advancement.

With the secondary camera, users can be rest assured that their wide-angle shots and portraits will look much better. There's also the presence of the Night Mode feature, which is currently celebrated on Samsung’s top-end smartphones. With it, extremely dark conditions will no longer be a hindrance to saving memories via snapshots.

The Interface

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 functions with the Samsung One UI and Android 9.0 Pie. The custom UI makes the Galaxy Tab S6 easy to navigate with quick response.

Swiping to the left direction of the home screen reveals the Tab's Take a Look screen. This shows the Galaxy Store (the company's app store) recommendations, news updates, GIFs, schedule information, instant games and lots more.

A lot of the standard apps on the tablet are creations of the Samsung company, which users can always opt-out if they have no need for them. Some of them are actually duplicates of products already made available by Google, like the Microsoft Outlook and the Samsung Internet Browser.

The crux of the matter is that Samsung has created the best Android tablet in existence so far. Its superior sound output, top-notch innards and alluring display places it on a whole new level. This device will serve the purpose of productivity perfectly, thanks to its brilliant specs and the Samsung S Pen.

If your needs require the services of a high-quality Android tablet with excellent components, then the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is your best choice. In addition, if what you require in a tablet includes ample storage and a stylus, without the expensive price attached to the likes of Apple products, then you should go for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.
