It seems game lovers are still anticipating the arrival of the just-announced PS5. This is slated to be released sometime later this year. But before that, have you asked yourself that, how much of the games on the console of the PS4 have you played?
Yes, PS4 was released in 2013 and it had been a revelation ever since. With new games being released every year, you can’t just get enough of the console. The release of games like, the Spiderman, God of War, Star Wars: Fallen Order, Borderlands 3, MXGP 2019, Dead or Alive 6, Days Gone, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and a host of other titles that have been treating us to the best on PS4, there is not a shortage of games to play on the console.
Fortunately for us, games fans, this year too is not a disappointment in the way of games released. This piece is going to look at some of the best names in terms of adventure games released in 2020. As much as you can’t be short of games to play on PS4, some are better than the others and adventure games just keep giving us enough episodes and levels to watch out for.
Outlined below are some of the best adventure games for the PS4 console for this year, 2020:
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
This game was released in 2019 but it’s highly likely you’ve not played enough of it. the game was created by Activision and it is a retune of the FPS franchise. It was created with the actual gadgetry of modern military engagement. They removed the frills of jetpacks, futuristic gadgets, zombies and double-jumps to make it more realistic.
You might be wondering about the name. Well, we were too, at first. Activision was actually looking to make a repeat of what makes the game Modern Warfare very successful in 2007. Modern Warfare is making a reference to the resolute realities of war. The “modern” in the name though, is used to refer to the weapons gadgets and gears used in the game, which is in the likeness of those used in the Middle East and Russia, rather than the previous ones which were based on the fantasies of science.
The game has a 4K PS4 Pro Support but has no HDR. The game might have some issues regarding its campaign, but in terms of multiplayer modes and tight shooting, it’s not a game to sneer at.
This game is more or less like a spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series and it is not for the faint-hearted. The game takes the methodical boss encounters and the challenging combats of the latter while also speeding up the gameplay for a more intense and chaotic experience.
The Lovecraftian storyline and a dark, gothic setting provide a dreary condition for the white-knuckle gameplay. You will play as a hunter, making your way through the city of Yharnam. The city is under a strange curse that is turning the locals into mindless beasts. You will need to stay alert throughout the journey because the game is filled with tons of traps and unforgiving monsters.
Although it is not technically a horror game, the combats and settings are basically blood-curdling. Avoiding traps and deadly monsters at every corner makes the game one of the best PS4 games till now.
3. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
This is the most recent in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. You are to act like either Kassandra or Alexios during the Peloponnesian War. You will start the game as a mercenary, navigating the disorderliness of Ancient Greece while also trying to uncover the truth about your history.
You should be sure you have enough time up your sleeves if you’re to play this game because you’ll have over a hundred hours of content to enjoy. The stunning graphics that will take you back in time to the heart of Ancient Greece has given this game a place of honor on this list. Take a bow, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey!
4. Marvel’s Spiderman
One of the things that Marvel’s Spiderman does well is swinging from one skyscraper to the other in a bussing New York City. Even though the actual story in the game is just roughly 20 hours long, you should anticipate more. There are a lot of things to see and do in the game, like unlocking really cool Spiderman’s suits and gadgets or using your camera to capture some of the best landmarks in the metropolis.
There are some reviews that have even claimed that the game is the best Superhero video game of its generation, even getting the nod ahead of Batman: Arkham Asylum. This should mean we should be getting more games in other universes of superheroes as time goes on, shouldn’t it?
5. God of War
This is one of the most expected games of the PS4 exclusives of 2018, and we were not disappointed. It is designed to take Kratos from Greek to Norse mythology, where he became a father. It was a real break-away from the button-smashing, violent God of War that we’ve come to know. The previous series have given us an anti-hero who is struggling against the gods and monsters of Greek mythology.
This new game, titled just “God of War” displays a more significant hero in Kratos, whose character is broken down further in a more intimate and grounded adventure. The combats have also been altered to give a more strategic play rather than the action play we were used to. The game also introduces to us a new character, Atreus, Kratos’ son.
If you’re looking to really go around and get a better understanding of the Norse mythology, the interpretation of the developers of God of War might be the best way to go. Furthermore, it was said to be the most impressive game in the PS4 console to date with a lot of secrets to find and more optional areas to explore.
